Do I require Travel Insurance?
We strongly recommend that you obtain adequate insurance against cancellation, loss of baggage, medical evacuation, medical expenses, and the unforeseen circumstances of Tsalanang Travel & Tours. It is your responsibility to have travel insurance and present it before traveling on our tours. Travel insurance must include comprehensive medical coverage. Please take out your cover as soon as you receive the invoice.
Do I have to pay up front for the tour/vacation?
Yes, all tours must be fully paid in advance before the tour date.
How do I make payment?
You can pay directly by booking on our website, or we will send you a payment link from one of our payment gateway options: PayFast, Yoco, or PayPal, which are very safe to use.
Where can I find my itinerary once my trip is booked?
Your provisional itinerary will be sent to you once the booking is done. Please note that some activities are subject to availability or may change.
What is the average group size for your trips?
Our tours will have 2-15 passengers. However, our game drive, boat cruise, etc., suppliers reserve the right to include more from other service providers.
Can you work within a certain budget?
Yes, our tours are fully customizable. We can work within a realistic budget, and an honest sharing of ideas and goals helps us a lot when making recommendations and suggested travel plans.
What is the best time of year to travel to South Africa?
It depends on what you want to do. South Africa has a wide selection of destinations and things to do. Once we understand your travel interests, we will advise accordingly.
What kind of tours do you offer?
We have a variety of History, Culture, Nature, Lifestyle, and Adventure tours. We have something for everyone.
Which style of trip is right for me?
Send us your preference. We have a variety of travel styles – Budget, Mid-range, and luxury tours.
Can I Travel with children?
Yes, children are more than welcome to join our tours. However, certain safaris have age restrictions for kids younger than 6 years old.
Are there age restrictions on your trips?
Most of our tours don’t have an age limit. However, an adult must accompany all children under the age of 18.
How do I find out about the VISA requirements for my country visiting South Africa?
We always recommend that our guests check with their local embassy, as visa rules can change without warning. We do not provide any kind of VISA travel letters. You can visit the website of the Department of Home Affairs South Africa to find out more on your country’s Visa requirements.
Is South Africa safe?
South Africa is facing challenges like other countries. However, if you travel with a knowledgeable tour operator such as Tsalanang Travel & Tours, you can have peace of mind.
How safe are my belongings while on the tour?
While every care is taken by our tour guides/drivers and suppliers, the client shall be responsible for his/her baggage or luggage and personal items on tour.
What should I wear on Safari?
Wear weather-appropriate clothing and bring a light jacket for afternoon safari. Avoid bright-colored clothing. (white, red, pink, orange, etc.) Bring sunglasses, a hat & sunscreen.
Will I be able to use my credit card in South Africa?
Yes, most places will accept debit/credit cards. You can also withdraw cash from ATMs.
Should I take antimalarial medication?
Malaria is endemic to the northern areas of Southern Africa, including Kruger National Park. Please consult your doctor for further information on the various antimalarial available.
Do you include international flights?
No, none of our tours include international flights. Guests need to book their own flights to and from South Africa.
Cancellation Policy
Tsalanang Tours will recover all planning, handling, and operational costs incurred, including costs based on our service providers’ cancellation policies. Termination of a tour in progress for any reason beyond Tsalanang Tours’ control will not necessarily result in a refund, and no refund will be made for partially used portions of any arrangements. Please familiarize yourself with our cancellation Terms & Conditions before booking.
Food, drink, and dietary requirements
I have special dietary requirements – will they be catered for? We will try our very best to accommodate all dietary requirements, but in some out-of-the-way places, it can be very difficult to guarantee. We will let you know if there are places on your itinerary where this is the case. Please let us know at the time of booking of any food requirements or allergies, as South Africa is a “Food Paradise”.
Can I drink the water in South Africa?
South African cities have some of the best drinkable water, but we would advise you to drink bottled water.
Are domestic flights and airport transfers included in the tour price?
Flights: We will include domestic flights where stated on your itinerary; any other flights are at the guest’s responsibility.
Airport Shuttle: Generally, airport shuttles are not included in the tour price unless you’re traveling on a selected tour. However, you can book your airport shuttle upon request.
What standard of accommodation should I expect?
The standard of accommodation depends on the tour you choose. We cater for 2 -5 Star graded accommodation.
Transport:
We have a variety of standard vehicles from 2 – 22 seaters.
Gratuities
Tips are highly appreciated by our guides/drivers, however, it’s not a must, as they are received on the quality of service you get. We would recommend a tip of a minimum of R75.00 per person per tour.
